McLellan provides comprehensive building services design and engineering expertise to the buildings sector.

Our expertise includes all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services including power systems, lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, steam generation, natural gas distribution, fire suppression systems as well as telecommunications and IT infrastructure. In addition to providing services covering the specification, design and supervision of installation of utilities, we also provide project management solutions encompassing these aspects. This service also includes ensuring compliance with planning and building regulations, liaising with architects and contractors, procurement and CDM. Projects often start with feasibility studies and progress through to full design and construction management.

With sustainable and low carbon design being key priorities within the buildings sector, our capabilities include the planning, design and project management of renewable and low carbon energy schemes. McLellan has particular expertise in the provision of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) which integrates the production of usable heat and power (electricity) into one single highly efficient process and has a vital role in helping to reduce carbon emissions. When implementing CHP solutions, the design needs to encompass the provision of the fuel, generation, storage as well as the distribution of energy. McLellan, with our multi-disciplinary design expertise, is able to project manage the application of the process to maximise the potential benefits to the operator.

McLellan operates within the framework of an environmental policy which embraces all aspects of design including low energy consumption. The policy’s aim is to minimise the adverse effects of a building on the environment whilst providing a solution which ‘works’ for the occupants.
